Wolfgang Petersen's spectacular account of the fall of Troy - with a pumped up Brad Pitt as Achilles - may stray from Homer's Iliad, but the action is well worth the stretch of artistic licence. Diane Kruger plays legendary Spartan beauty Helen - the married lady who falls for Trojan noble Paris (Orlando Bloom), thus triggering the conflict - while Eric Bana delivers a powerful turn as Paris' brother Hector and Peter O'Toole fuels the emotional intensity as a father mourning his slaughtered son. Big cast; bigger battles.
- Clash of the Titans (2010)
Available until 24 May 2017
The 80s fantasy classic gets a bold reworking with this epic take on the classic story of Perseus, the mortal son of Zeus who must square up to his uncle Hades (Ralph Fiennes), the enemy of mankind. Avatar's Sam Worthington plays the demi-god who embarks on a quest to defeat his Olympian nemesis, taking in rucks with giant scorpions and a face-off in the caverns of Hades with the Medusa. Incredible Hulk director Louis Leterrier rattles off a cracking yarn employing stunning visual effects and climaxing with a ground-shaking run-in with the Kraken.
- The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King
Available until 24 Apr 2017
The epic journey through Middle-earth ends in a blaze of confrontations and conflagrations as Frodo (Elijah Wood) finally reaches Mordor, desolate home of the all-seeing epitome of evil, Sauron. As the hobbit's will to destroy the Ring wavers, new heroes emerge... and old villains await. Peter Jackson's monumental adaptation of JRR Tolkien's epic fantasy comes to an Oscar-winning end, leaving a cinematic legacy that few - maybe none - shall pass.
- The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
Available until 17 May 2017
A tale of two towers and three adventures as a divided fellowship take different paths in their quest to destroy the One Ring. Despite climaxing in the spectacular Battle of Helms Deep and featuring an abundance of plucky hobbits, wise wizards, fearsome orcs, repugnant goblins and towering Ents, it's the wonderful Gollum (Andy Serkis) who steals the show (and the ring) in the second part of Peter Jackson's splendidses adaptation of JRR Tolkien's legendary trilogy. Won the Oscars for Best Sound and Visual Effects.
