Steven Spielberg's gripping slice of Cold War history stars Tom Hanks as James Donovan, an insurance lawyer who agrees to defend alleged Russian spy Rudolf Abel (the Oscar-winning Mark Rylance) following his arrest in 1957. After saving Abel from the death penalty, Donovan is sent to Berlin to arrange his exchange for a captured US pilot whose U2 spy plane was shot down over Russia. But with an American student also held in East Berlin, Donovan insists on making it a two-for-one deal...
