Special forces agent-turned-mercenary Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) undergoes what he believes to be life-saving surgery under the knife of a crazed scientist (Ed Skrein). However, the operation does not go as planned, leaving Wade hideously disfigured and embarking on a violent course of revenge. The Marvel Cinematic Universe goes dark for this blackly comic, supremely self-aware sideswipe at the genre. As producer and wise-cracker extraordinaire, Reynolds born to play the damaged avenger whose wit is as sharp as his twin samurai swords.

Available until 30 Jun 2017
The Marvel-lous mutants unleash their unique talents for a third X-capade in which a 'cure' is discovered for the mutant condition. Once again, malevolent Magneto (Ian McKellen) wages war on the human oppressors, while Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), Professor X (Patrick Stewart) and the X-folk strive to keep the peace. But that's not easy with resurrected telepath Jean Grey (Famke Janssen) wreaking havoc in her uncontrollable new persona. As chaotic and characterful as you'd expect (hello Vinnie Jones! ), there's plenty for action freaks plenty to chew on.
- X-Men Origins: Wolverine
Available until 01 Apr 2019
Laying the foundations for the X-Men saga, this Marvel-ous backstory follows the evolution of Logan (Hugh Jackman) from claw-wielding freak of nature to Wolverine, the adamantium-enhanced anti-hero fuelled by berserker rage. Joining him are his psychologically troubled brother Sabretooth (Liev Schreiber) and Lynn Collins as the telepathically persuasive Kayla Silverfox. Super-slick visuals and a neat slice of dramatic scene-setting will keep X-Fans on the edge.
- Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer
Available until 30 Jun 2017
It's clobberin' time again as the cosmically gifted quartet try to stop the global chaos whipped up by the Silver Surfer, herald of the planet-gobbling entity Galactus. With Earth under threat - and old foe Dr Doom back in town - rubbery Reed Richards (Ioan Gruffudd) and see-through Sue Storm (Jessica Alba) have no choice but to put their wedding on hold... again. Chris 'Captain America' Evans returns as Sue's firebrand brother Johnny while Michael Chiklis is back as super-strong 'Thing' Ben Grimm to make up the fearless foursome. Flame on!
- Fantastic Four
Available until 28 May 2017
Chronicle director Josh Trank reboots the Fantastic Four franchise in a marked departure from the recent lightweight takes on the comic books. Four young scientists - Whiplash's Miles Teller (Mr Fantastic), Kate Mara (The Invisible Woman), Michael B Jordan (The Human Torch) and Jamie Bell (The Thing) - achieve superhuman abilities after a teleportation experiment goes haywire. They must now use these awesome powers to save the world from a new threat to the world order.
Available until 21 Jun 2017
Big roles don't come much smaller than Marvel's Ant-Man, but Paul Rudd fills his boots as Scott Lang, a petty thief who - thanks to scientist Dr Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) - is able to shrink to a fraction of his real size and increase his strength. Together, the reformed con and his mentor plan a heist that will not only safeguard the Ant-Man technology from the voracious mandibles of the evil Yellowjacket (Corey Stoll), but could save the world.
