Tobey Maguire packs a perfect Peter Parker as the friendly neighbourhood geek who is transformed into a web-slinging crimefighter after being bitten by a genetically altered spider. Completely aware that with great power comes great responsibility, director Sam Raimi does Stan Lee's comic-book hero true justice with a yarn which is both visually stunning and emotionally engrossing. Willem Dafoe provides Spidey's first nemesis as the maniacal Green Goblin while Kirsten Dunst puckers up a treat as girl-next-door Mary Jane Watson.

The Marvel-lous mutants unleash their unique talents for a third X-capade in which a 'cure' is discovered for the mutant condition. Once again, malevolent Magneto (Ian McKellen) wages war on the human oppressors, while Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), Professor X (Patrick Stewart) and the X-folk strive to keep the peace. But that's not easy with resurrected telepath Jean Grey (Famke Janssen) wreaking havoc in her uncontrollable new persona. As chaotic and characterful as you'd expect (hello Vinnie Jones! ), there's plenty for action freaks plenty to chew on.

Peter Parker's life appears to be on the up. In love with MJ, whose stage career is taking off, and experiencing uncharted levels of popularity as Spider-Man, it might all start going to his head. He'd better pull himself together - Flint Marco's out of jail and stumbling into a science experiment, a black oil just dropped in from outer space and Harry Osborne has found his father's stash of bombs and gliders... Will Spidey keep the villains in check? Will he become one himself? Is this bad guy count a bit too Batman Returns for our liking?

    Ant-Man

    Available until 21 Jun 2017

Big roles don't come much smaller than Marvel's Ant-Man, but Paul Rudd fills his boots as Scott Lang, a petty thief who - thanks to scientist Dr Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) - is able to shrink to a fraction of his real size and increase his strength. Together, the reformed con and his mentor plan a heist that will not only safeguard the Ant-Man technology from the voracious mandibles of the evil Yellowjacket (Corey Stoll), but could save the world.
