What does Broadband Buddy do?

Broadband Buddy is a handy extra service that helps keep you and your family safe online. Here's what it does:

Automatically blocks malware and phishing sites.
You can choose to block websites by age rating.
You can block and allow individual websites, regardless of age rating.

Do I have to pay extra to use Broadband Buddy?

No, Broadband Buddy is free to use. It's a handy extra service included in your broadband plan at no extra cost.

Can I block or allow individual websites?

You can block or allow individual websites, regardless of the age rating you've chosen. Here's how:

Under Block & allow websites click the down arrow.
Enter the web address of the site you want to block or allow and click Add.

Be careful when allowing websites. Once you allow a website, Broadband Buddy will never block it as long as it's on your allow list – even if it later changes age rating or is infected with malware.

What does 'Grown up browsing time' mean?

With grown up browsing time, you can set a specific time of the day when 18 age rated websites are allowed. This is super handy if you have kids you want to protect during the day but want don't want any restrictions after they've gone to bed.

For example, you can set grown up browsing time from 21:00 to 05:30. During these hours, you'll be able to browse websites with any age rating. Only malware and phishing sites will be blocked.

What devices does Broadband Buddy work on?

It works with any device connected to your NOW Broadband. That includes smartphones, laptops, tablets, games consoles… anything you can use to connect to the internet.

Remember, Broadband Buddy only protects devices connected to your NOW Broadband, so it won't work if you're browsing with a 3G or 4G connection.
