About the movie
One of cinema's defining teen movies, Rob Reiner's 50s drama about a gang of boys journeying through the woods to find a dead body is a perfect coming of age film. With pitch perfect performances from the young cast (including the late Phoenix, and a young Kiefer Sutherland as the psychotic town bully), this is by turns sad, funny, exciting, crude, and ultimately inspiring. Based on a Stephen King story, this is arguably the 1980s' Shawshank Redemption.
