What are Boost and Ultra Boost?

Boost and Ultra Boost are optional upgrades that let you enjoy shows, movies and sports with better picture and sound quality, plus stream ad-free* on multiple devices. Boost costs £6 extra a month, or £9 for Ultra Boost. The features available depend on your NOW Membership, content and supported devices.

  • Higher streaming quality: With Boost, watch all the Sky Sports channels and selected shows and movies in 1080p. Sky Sports channels also stream at 50 frames per second.   • Awesome audio: Got a surround sound speaker system or soundbar? Get Dolby Digital 5.1 with Boost, or Dolby Atmos with Ultra Boost on selected content and supported devices.

  • Multiple screens: Watch on 2 devices at the same time with Boost, or 3 with Ultra Boost.

 

Can I watch Sky Sports in UHD?

With Ultra Boost, the UHD channels available depend on your sports membership:

 

  • All Sky Sports or Day Membership: Get 4 live UHD sports channels (Sky Sports Main Event & Sky Sports F1, plus 2 ad-hoc channels, Sky Sports UHD 1 & 2.)
  • Multi-Sport Membership: Get Sky Sports F1 in UHD.


Keep in mind: No UHD channels are included with Football Membership.

 

Can I get Boost or Ultra Boost?

To upgrade and watch ad-free on up to 3 devices at once, you just need a monthly NOW Membership. (You won't be able to add Boost or Ultra Boost if you've only got a Day Membership.)

 

What do I need to get Boost or Ultra Boost?

To enjoy full HD or 4K UHD HDR, Dolby Atmos or 5.1 and 50fps on Sky Sports channels, you'll need:

 

  • A HD or 4K UHD TV that supports HLG, HDR10 or HDR10+, with an HDMI port that supports HDCP 2.2 (not all HDMI 2.0 ports support it).
  • A minimum internet speed per individual streaming device of 12Mbps for Boost, or 30Mbps for Ultra Boost.
  • Dolby digital 5.1 or Dolby Atmos-enabled speaker system or soundbar.
  • Plus a supported device: Check supported devices

 

How do I get Boost or Ultra Boost?

Already a NOW Member?

  1. Sign in to the Membership & Payment area of My Account.
  2. Choose Boost or Ultra Boost and follow the steps to upgrade.

 

New to NOW?

  1. Head over to NOWTV.com/membership.
  2. Choose a membership.
  3. Look for the option to upgrade with Boost or Ultra Boost (or start a free trial) as you check out.

 

Can’t see the upgrade option? Create your NOW account first, then go to the Membership area of My Account to add Boost or Ultra Boost.

How do I upgrade to Ultra Boost or switch back to Boost?

Upgrade from Boost to Ultra Boost

  1. Go to Membership in My Account.
  2. Select Boost.
  3. Select Change Membership.
  4. Choose the option to switch to Ultra Boost.

 

Once you've upgraded, you'll be able to enjoy all the features of Ultra Boost straight away.

 

Good to know: If you're upgrading from Boost, and you had any Boost time remaining that you’ve paid for and haven't used, we'll refund you for this. The refund will be applied automatically at checkout as a discount against your purchase. Find out more about refunds for Boost

 

 

Switch from Ultra Boost to Boost

If you decide Ultra Boost isn't for you, follow the steps below to switch back to Boost:

  1. Go to Membership in My Account.
  2. Select Ultra Boost.
  3. Select Change Membership.
  4. Choose the option to switch to Boost

 

Good to know: You'll keep your Ultra Boost benefits until your next billing date, when you'll switch to Boost and be able to stream on 2 devices at a time in full HD with surround sound.

 

Can I get a free trial of Boost or Ultra Boost?

If you haven't tried Boost or Ultra Boost before, you might be eligible for a free 7-day trial. Just head over to the Membership area of My Account to see if a free trial is available.

 

Keep in mind: You won't be able to add Boost or Ultra Boost if you've only got a Day Membership.

 

Does Boost or Ultra Boost renew automatically?

If you have a monthly membership, Boost or Ultra Boost will renew automatically each month unless you cancel it. You can cancel at any time in exactly the same way as you'd cancel your membership, by going to Membership.

If you cancel your last monthly membership, we'll automatically cancel your Boost or Ultra Boost from the next billing date for you as well (unless it's one you pay for through a third party, like Apple).

 

What ads will I see with Boost or Ultra Boost?

You'll still see ads on live channels, and promotional trailers for shows, movies and events you can access with your membership.

Members who don't have Boost or Ultra Boost will see ads in on-demand Sports, Cinema and Entertainment shows too.
