Which membership do I need to watch HBO Max shows?

NOW offers you more flexibility than ever before with a choice of 2 types of Entertainment Membership. Which one you opt for will largely depend on what HBO shows you want to watch.

Good to know: From 21 August, House of the Dragon S1 will only be available to watch with an Entertainment & HBO Max Membership. 

NOW Entertainment & HBO Max Membership

If you want unmissable Sky Originals like The Day of the Jackal and Saturday Night Live and Exclusive shows such as Heated Rivalry, as well as every series from HBO Max, this is the membership for you. It includes HBO Max Basic with Ads, which means you get iconic hits like Game of Thrones and Succession and brand-new must-see series like Rooster and The Pitt.

Good to know: If you've got Boost or Ultra Boost, you won't see ads in any on-demand shows.

NOW Entertainment Membership

If you just want unmissable Sky Original and Exclusive US shows, and you want to keep watching your returning HBO favourites, the Entertainment Membership is the right choice for you.

You'll have access to the biggest returning hit series from HBO Max, such as the latest seasons of Euphoria, House of The Dragon and more.

New HBO Max shows, and earlier seasons of HBO shows, won't be available with this membership, so if you want to go back and catch up on the story so far, you’ll need an Entertainment & HBO Max Membership.

For example:

• Euphoria S3 is a returning show, so you'll be able to watch it with an Entertainment Membership. But to watch S1 and S2, you'll need an Entertainment & HBO Max Membership.

• The Pitt is a brand-new show, so you'll need an Entertainment & HBO Max Membership to watch that, too.

How do I know whether an HBO Max show is available with my membership?

Shows that you won’t be able to access with an Entertainment Membership will display a padlock icon. This means you’ll need to upgrade to an Entertainment & HBO Max Membership to watch them.
