About the track

Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya knows how to make history. Set against the backdrop of beautiful Montmeló on the city’s outskirts, this track has witnessed some of the most memorable moments in Formula 1 history — including Max Verstappen’s debut win in 2016 and Michael Schumacher’s rain-soaked victory in 1996.

Today, some stretches of this course reward daredevil speed and risky overtakes. Others demand that drivers slow down and keep their heads through incredibly tight turns and chicanes. Think of it as an all-rounder of a circuit, testing a driver’s complete set of skills.

This track is also a showcase for the aerodynamic capabilities of Formula 1’s cars, forcing drivers and their teams to lean heavily on these astonishing feats of engineering. The slightest shift in wind can alter the fate of the whole race, making the battles on this course that much more exhilarating and unpredictable.
