About the series

Set in Westeros nearly a century before the events of Game of Thrones, this tall tale follows a wandering wannabe-knight and his unexpected companion as they navigate honour, ambition, and the harsh realities of a feudal world. Against the backdrop of tourneys and Targaryen intrigue, their journey explores themes of loyalty and identity, laying the foundation for legends whispered across the Seven Kingdoms. Any questions?

In the shadow of dragons and dynasties, a lone hedge knight walks the roads of Westeros, an age before the Iron Throne’s bloody game begins. Amid tourneys and whispers of Targaryen power, his path entwines with destiny, testing the meaning of honour in a realm where oaths are fragile and legends are born in steel and fire. This is the first spark of stories that will echo through the Seven Kingdoms.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms takes place 100 years before the events of Game of Thrones, and around 90 years after House of the Dragon. It features characters from many of the same ruling families, and was written by George R. R. Martin, the same author who wrote the books that Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon were based on.
You can watch the shows in any order you like. But if you’d like to watch them in chronological order (according to author George R. R. Martin’s timeline), you should start with House of the Dragon, then A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, and finish with Game of Thrones.
