`Trollied' follows the workers at Valco, a supermarket in Warrington, Cheshire in their professional and personal lives. Acting deputy manager Julie's main weakness is a decided lack of people skills. Julie is romantically attracted to fellow manager Gavin, a one-time store manager who leaves to become the company's area manager. Other members of the Valco team include butcher Andy and his apprentice, Kieran, cashier Katie, and Margaret who is the oldest member of the store's team and who struggles to settle in.
