Profiles are a great way for you and the whole family to watch the movies, shows and sports you love in one account. A profile allows you to personalise your NOW viewing experience, including content recommendations based on your watch history.
You can have up to 6 profiles on your NOW account. Each profile can have its own:
- Avatar
- Name
- Maturity ratings
- Profile PIN
- Autoplay settings.
Managing a profile is simple. Find out how to create, switch, edit or remove a profile in the steps below:
Create a profile
New to NOW? Your account holder profile and a kids profile will be automatically created when you sign up.
To add another profile:
Step 1:
Head to the Profiles page in the NOW app or through a web browser
Step 2:
Click on (+) New Profile
Step 3:
Choose an avatar
Step 4:
Enter a profile name.
To add another kids or teen profile, just select yes when prompted in the steps above.
Good to know: You won’t be able to create a new profile when using a kids profile. To do this, switch to an adult profile.
Switch profiles
Follow the steps below to switch to a different profile on your NOW account:
Step 1:
Click on your profile avatar
- On a smart TV: In the top left corner
- On a mobile device: In the bottom right corner
- On a web browser: In the top right corner
Step 2:
Choose the profile you'd like to switch to from the Who’s Watching Profiles page.
Edit a profile
Step 1:
Head to the Profiles page in the NOW app or through a web browser
Step 2:
Click on the pencil icon under the profile you’d like to edit
Step 3:
Make changes to your avatar, profile name or maturity rating. Or click on the toggles next to profile PIN or autoplay settings to turn them on or off. You’ll be asked to enter your account password when changing your maturity rating or profile PIN.
You won’t be able to edit a profile when using a kids profile. To do this, switch to an adult profile.

Remove a profile
Step 1:
Head to the Profiles page in the NOW app or through a web browser
Step 2:
Click on the pencil icon under the profile you’d like to remove
Step 3:
Select the Delete profile option.
Keep in mind: You won't be able to remove the account holder profile.

Are there parental controls on NOW?
Yes, you can choose to set a maturity rating in each profile to restrict what younger viewers can watch. You can also set up a profile PIN to stop kids from accessing content in adult profiles. Find out more in the articles below:
