GDPR and NOW
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a European law that came into effect on 25 May 2018. It governs how organisations handle people’s information and sets out the requirements they must comply with. It also outlines the rights people have over their information and how it’s used.
What data does NOW hold about me?
When you become a NOW Member, you agree to both our terms and conditions and our privacy and cookies notice. Have a read of these if you want to find out more about what information we hold about you and how we use and share your data.

How do I check my personal details are accurate and up to date?
Just log in to My Account to view your details. If you need to update your mobile number or email address, you can do that here.
Head to the Membership section to update your TV payment details, or update your broadband payment details here.
- To change your name or title, you’ll need to get in touch.
- If you're an EE TV customer and you need to update your details, you'll need to contact EE TV.
How do I opt out of personalised marketing or advertising?
We use information about the products you’ve bought and the shows you’ve watched to make your NOW experience more relevant to you. For example, we might show you tailored recommendations for movies or TV shows you might like to watch.
Communications and personalised ads that you can opt out of include:
- Marketing communications – We’ll tell you about the latest movies, sports and entertainment, as well as special offers, to help you make the most of NOW.
- Newsletter – We'll keep you up to date with personalised and recommended shows, movies or sports within your NOW Membership.
- Personalised advertising – Opting out of this means the advertising you see when you watch content on NOW won’t be tailored for you – it’ll simply be generic.
- Profiling – If you opt out of profiling, you won’t see tailored offers or content recommendations from NOW. This includes tailored offers in marketing messages you’re opted in to, and any personalised NOW advertising on the social media platforms you use.
- Personalised recommendations – Switching this feature off means you won’t see content recommendations based on what you’ve previously watched when you’re browsing on NOW.
To manage your preferences, just sign into My Account and head to Data & Communications.

At NOW, we're only responsible for data we hold ourselves. If you're a NOW Entertainment & HBO Max Member, your data will also be held separately by Warner Bros.
