What else do I need to use the Smart Box?
- A TV with an HDMI port.
- An internet connection and a minimum download speed of 2.5Mbp (via broadband) or 180Kbps (via 3G or 4G)
- NOW remote (supplied with your Smart Box)
- HDMI cable and power adaptor (supplied with your Smart Box).
How does voice search work?
Voice search lets you quickly look for movies and shows by name, or by your favourite actors or directors, just by speaking into your Smart Box remote. Plus you can launch apps on your Smart Box on command.

How does hotel connect work?
Hotel connect lets you set up your Smart Box in locations where you need to sign in to the Wi-Fi network through a web browser, like a hotel room or student halls.
You can use hotel connect throughout the UK.

Do I need a TV aerial to use the Smart Box?
You don't need an aerial to access your NOW Membership or any of the apps on a NOW Smart Box.
Do I need a NOW account?
Yes, you’ll need to be a NOW member to set up your Smart Box.

Can I use more than one Smart Box with my account?
Yes - to add another device, including NOW Boxes and Smart Sticks, simply sign in to your account and start watching.
Just remember that you can’t watch NOW on more than 1 device at a time unless you have Boost or Ultra Boost.

Can I keep my Smart Box if I cancel my membership?
Yes, you can still keep your Smart Box if you cancel your membership. However, you won't be able to watch any movies, TV or live sport with the NOW app.

Can I play or store files onto my Smart Box?
No, your Smart Box can only be used for the NOW app and other apps available in the App Store.
Can I browse the internet on my Smart Box?
No, you can't browse the internet with your Smart Box.
Can I pause or rewind the TV channels on my Smart Box?
You can pause and rewind the live sports channels and Sky Sports+ streams for up to 2 hours with a NOW Smart Box with 4K & Voice Search or a NOW Box (black).
You can also pause and rewind live entertainment and Sky Cinema channels for up to 30 minutes on NOW Boxes.
Can I watch extra live streams with my Smart Box?
If you've got a NOW Smart Box with 4K and Voice Search, or a black NOW Box, and a Sports Day or Month Membership, you can access Sky Sports+ streams for selected sports events, including additional EFL matches and F1 Race Control.
When a stream is available, you'll find it on the relevant sports page in the NOW app - for example, rugby streams will be on the Rugby page.
Don't worry if you can't see any streams right now – they'll appear automatically by the time the event starts.
