This winter, strict deadlines force the fleet to take extreme measures. Vern gambles on an advanced dredge, and Emily unleashes a team of all-girl divers on Nome.

Just as the fleet seems set to home in on the gold, equipment problems cause setbacks, costing each crew precious time under the water.

Near the midpoint of the shortened mining season, every dredge must hustle to stay on the gold. But in their haste, small miscalculations lead to massive problems.

All the teams are working hard to make the season pay. But they will have to contend with the weight of the past before they can land on future riches.

With less than a week remaining in the season, every crew is battling the clock. Just when they think it couldn't get any harder, a massive storm descends on Nome.

After a month out on the ice, one day remains in the ice-mining season. For every miner, that's one more day to prove that a season full of risks was worth the cost.
