Steven wins a part in a new play, but there are two problems - his arch-enemy Ray is also in it, and rumour has it the director has a history of murdering difficult actors.

In an attempt to pay for an acrimonious divorce, Steven accepts the starring role in a new film being made by an Arab billionaire, against the advice of his agent.

Steven tries to make a good impression when he meets his girlfriend's aristocratic father, and some voiceover work leads to a terrifying visit to a Royal Navy submarine launch.

Tired of his acting work, Steven hires a new agent and tries his hand at a different career - an author of erotic literature - and also finds himself a glamorous woman.

Steven is pursued by musical superstar and part-time enforcer Michael Ball (playing himself) after losing 20,000 pounds to Andrew Lloyd Webber in a game of poker.
