A Quiet Place

This masterful survival horror comes from John 'Jim from The Office' Krasinski, who co-writes, directs and stars alongside real-life wife Emily Blunt. They play Lee and Evelyn Abbott, a couple living in constant fear of the giant, reptile-like creatures that stalk a desolate, post-apocalyptic US. Completely blind but with hyper-sensitive hearing, these terrifying predators have forced the Abbotts - who share their farmhouse hideout with young children Regan (Millicent Simmonds) and Marcus (Noah Jupe) - into a world without words, without sound. Make even the slightest peep and it'll spell the end for you and your loved ones, so it's a good job the family's current set-up - with its elaborate drills and routines - is as air-tight as can be. Bringing Evelyn's nearly due newborn up to speed might prove a little tricky though...
