ER, And In The End - Parts 1 and 2

It's a matter of life and death on the final season premiere.

It's just another day in paradise, as Dr Catherine Banfield's arrival and tough attitude causes the whole ER staff to feel defensive.

Neela is disappointed when she finds out Abby's good news secondhand. When a gunshot wound victim comes into the ER, the new chief, Catherine Banfield, and Abby butt heads on how to treat the patient.

Banfield runs out to get a cup of coffee, but is caught off guard when she's forced to defend herself from a man trying to steal her wallet. Dr Dubenko is back on the surgery team thanks to Dr Brenner's protest.

Gates feels neglected because Sam is distracted while studying for her pharmacology exam. A stab wound victim comes into the ER after a school-fight.

Morris takes Chaz under his wing and teaches him some risky medical procedures much to the chagrin of Dr Banfield. Neela gets upset when Dr Banfield undermines her authority with her intern. Meanwhile, Gates oversteps his bounds with Sam.

Dr Banfield takes a run to clear her head, but instead finds herself trying to rescue a three-year-old girl from drowning in a nearby lake.

Sam becomes frustrated with Gates when he becomes obsessed with finding a homeless war hero. Meanwhile, Neela is upset at her intern after he involves the entire surgery department in a nasty lawsuit.

Neela has to testify in court after she treated a patient that bled out and died. Alex and Sarah go to a party against Sam's will and get into a terrible car accident.

Morris receives an unwanted package from his father at the ER doorstep. Sam is anxious about getting Alex off of the ventilator after his accident. Meanwhile, a pregnant woman with a high-risk pregnancy is in danger of getting deported.

Banfield treats two brothers that come into the ER with serious injuries after a drug deal goes bad. Gates is upset with Sam over the fact that she never told him that Alex was released from the hospital.

Neela finds herself having a recurring dream about her crazy day trying to save a young girl with sickle cell anemia. Gates works on saving a patient that jumped out of a window during his sleep.

Morris treats a complicated case involving a young girl who was hit while riding her bike. Gates can't seem to shake his feelings for Sam. Meanwhile, Neela gets flustered when Dr Brenner returns from Australia.

Gates and Morris treat an older man that comes into the ER after being assaulted on the street. While treating a mother thought to have late stage cancer, Dr Brenner gets a shocking diagnosis from another patient.

After a devastating car accident in the ambulance bay leaves a mother severely injured and in need of hip surgery, Brenner struggles to find a willing family member to take care of the woman's young daughter.

It's Valentine's Day in the ER and Love is blind. While Neela seems to be under the spell of Dr Brenner, Banfield, refuses to give up on having a baby, but is having trouble convincing her husband of her plan.

After getting frustrated with in vitro fertilisation, Dr Banfield and her husband decide to try an adoption agency to fulfil their dreams of having a family.

The story of County General is revealed as a camera crew interviews the staff for a documentary on emergency medicine. Morris's cop girlfriend gets injured on the job and is rushed into the ER with gunshot wounds.

Neela and Sam are shocked when they arrive back at the airport with transplant organs, only to find that their plane has left them. Dr Carter gets a surprise visit from an old friend while waiting for his kidney transplant.

It's Neela's last day at County General and everyone in the ER seems to have forgotten that she is leaving. Neela proves she is ready to be an attendant when she and Dr Dubenko argued about the treatment of two surgical cases.

Many of the ER doctors and nurses help out at Camp Del Corazon, a camp for kids who have had open-heart surgery. Working alongside the camp counselor, Morris and Brenner made a huge impact on several kids at the camp.

This hour-long retrospective takes a look back at the past 15 seasons at Chicago's County General ER.

Gates works on a teen brought in with alcohol poisoning after playing a deadly drinking game. Dr Carter opens a new medical facility for the underprivileged in Chicago and some old friends from County General come to show their support.
