Fireman Sam, Go Team Wildman

Season 14, Episode 12

Sarah and Mandy film a piece for the Pontypandy Planet, featuring the Wildmen of Pontypandy and their quest to carry a massive log several miles through the woods. Unfortunately, they don’t work well together and struggle to move the log. Sarah and Mandy spot the Firefighters nearby doing a ladder drill in perfect unison. As the log rolls out of control down a hill, Sarah and Mandy choose to interview Ellie about teamwork instead. Moose realizes if they float the log in the river, it will be easy to push! Unfortunately, the log gets caught in the fast-flowing part of the river and pulls Moose downstream towards the waterfall! Time for the Rescue Team! Penny heads down the river in Hydrus as Sam and Ellie use Saturn to track Moose. They coordinate a perfect rescue, and Sarah and Mandy have a great piece on teamwork for the Pontypandy Planet. The Wildmen are inspired by the Firefighters and promise to practice as a team before trying such a difficult challenge again.

The Pontypandy Bee Project
S14 E1 • 9m • HDU

Pontypandy needs more bees! Mandy and James put Bee Hotels up near Malcom’s beehives at the Watermill, but James won’t stop buzzing about how HIS hotel will be the BEST because he’s read The Big Book of Bees… making Mandy determined to get more bees than him. Meanwhile at Pontypandy Park, Lily tries to throw bee friendly seeds into a flower bed, but despite Sam’s help… she keeps missing. Back at the Watermill, James’ Bee Hotel is teeming with bees, but Mandy’s has none. Malcolm collects honeycombs from his hives and calms the bees with a smoker. When Mandy tries to get more bees by smearing Malcolm’s honeycomb on her hotel, she knocks over the smoker, starting a fire! The Firefighters rush to the scene with back up from Wallaby Two. Penny carefully uses a fire extinguisher around the bees, so she doesn’t alarm them. Fire extinguished! Mandy is sorry for knocking over the smoker, James is sorry for showing off and Lily gets her own bee friendly flower bed to attract bees.

The Moon Men Are Coming

At the garage, Joe, Hannah, and James try to point a giant laser beam at the moon to measure how far away it is when Norman panics that they’ll cause Moon Men to come down to Pontypandy, putting everyone in danger! Meanwhile the Fire Team test Saturn’s new night vision, motors and lights. Elvis loves how smooth she drives now, but he isn’t watching his step and trips over a grassy bump. The controller spins away, and Saturn ends up at the top of a tall tree! Ellie blasts Saturn out of the high branches with a hose and gets Sam and Elvis to catch Saturn with a canvas at the foot of the tree. Back at Joe’s, Hannah convinced Norman that Moon Men are afraid of pickles, so Norman rushes back with a pickle… just in time to protect them from a flying saucer! Joe realizes the UFO is actually Saturn, but it’s too late – they’ve knocked over the laser and the beam has started a fire! The Fire Team race to save the day, giving Joe and the kids another chance to carry out their experiment!

The Fastest Food

When Bronwyn launches the Wholefish Café Speedy Delivery Service, Mandy pledges to be the fastest delivery person ever, and not ‘slow as a snail’ like Norman said she’d be on her old scooter. But when Mandy gets to her first stop, her dad’s fish and chips are stone cold. Mike attaches a faster motor to Mandy’s scooter, warning her not to go over any bumps… Meanwhile at the Fire Station, Station Officer Steele runs safety drills using an ‘imaginary’ fire extinguisher on a charcoal barbeque. Ellie misunderstands and blasts the fire out with a real extinguisher… ruining the sausages. Mandy’s scooter now goes fast, and she speeds through her deliveries. Even Norman’s impressed! But as she zooms back, she hits a bump and the brakes fall off! Mandy is now out of control on a super powered scooter! The Firefighters rush to stop Mandy before she gets to the cliffs! An exciting chase ensues until Sam drives up beside Mandy and plucks her to safety… just in the nick of time!

Snap and Spot
S14 E4 • 9m • HDU

Trevor brings the Pioneers to Pontypandy Island, with Tom Thomas joining to help them earn their bird watching badges. Norman, Sarah Norman, Sarah, Mandy and James have all bought their Pioneers Bird Books, but Tom wants to share a new APP called Snap and Spot that can identify any bird with a photo. When he tries to photograph a bird, his phone PINGS, and the bird flaps away, leaving Tom with a photo of his foot. Tom tries to photograph another bird, but when he chases it by looking through his phone screen, he tumbles over the edge of a cliff! EMERGENCY is called, but what will they do without Tom to fly the helicopter? Luckily a new character, Krystyna, is in town! She pilots Wallaby Two and winches Sam and Elvis down to rescue a dangling Tom. It turns out Krystyna trained at the same school as Tom, and he’s overjoyed to see her. Tom promises that he won’t be trying his Snap and Spot again… but he might try a different APP that identifies bird sounds… called Snap and Chirp.

Sergeant Sarah
S14 E5 • 9m • HDU

When PC Malcolm, Sam and Ellie bring the Cadets to the Police Station to learn how they work, Sarah asks to shadow Sergeant Rose Ravani instead. Being a sergeant sounds amazing…until Sarah is stuck filing maps. Meanwhile Gareth and Nipper the dog stretch their legs between train rides at the Mountain Activity Centre. But when Nipper spots a squirrel, he dashes into the woods! Gareth chases him and soon both are lost! Station Officer Steele arrives at the train only to find the engine running and no sign of Gareth. Back at the Police Station, the alarm sounds that Gareth and Nipper are missing in the woods. Malcolm, Shadow, Sam and Ellie take the Cadets to search on foot, whilst Sarah helps Rose at the controls and sends Tom Thomas to be the eye in the sky. With her fantastic map reading skills, Sarah helps plan the search route where they find Gareth and Nipper. Sarah realises that being a sergeant isn’t always exciting but it’s very, very important.

Mooses's Sleepout Challenge
S14 E6 • 9m • HDU

Scoop Dooley presents his Scoop Of The Day live from the woods, where Moose Roberts is about to complete his month-long charity sleepout challenge! Scoop reveals the kids of Pontypandy will be joining Moose for his last night. James can’t wait to toast marshmallows but is disappointed to learn that Moose’s sleepout rules only allow them to eat foraged food. In the middle of the night, James sneaks out of his tent to toast a marshmallow. The marshmallow catches fire, and a panicking James drops it on the forest floor, starting a fire! Sam, Elvis and Ellie race to the rescue, putting the fire out with water, foam and help from Tom in Wallaby 2. Everyone is fine – but Moose’s camp is ruined! James feels terrible – but, with the Firefighters sticking around to clear up, he has an idea! The following morning, Scoop Dooley is back for an update – and reveals Moose to have successfully completed his challenge in a tent made from a bivouac made from foil space blankets!

Run Norman Run
S14 E7 • 9m • HDU

The Pontypandy Fun Run is today, and Norman is determined to finish the race this year, with the help of his coach, Hannah. Mike is excited to show off his “upgraded” PA system by giving the best commentary ever. It’s not long, however, before the sound starts acting up, agitating the race mascot, Prince the horse. Just as Mike gets the sound working again, it gives out completely, and a desperate Mike vamps up the power until the speakers blow out, sparking a fire. Chaos ensues as a terrified Prince bucks and bolts in the direction of the runners! In a big team effort Sergeant Ravani chases after Prince on her horse Kilo whilst Malcolm and Sam usher runners to safety. Elvis and Penny tackle the spreading PA system fire with Venus and Lizzie helps Sergeant Ravani finally slow Prince and catch him. Norman, oblivious to all the emergencies, runs casually past the police road blockade and other runners, and ends up winning the race!

The Ancient Pontypandy Way
S14 E8 • 9m • HDU

Hannah, Sarah and James join Professor Pickles on his quest to find the Ancient Pontypandy Way, using ancient methods to navigate through the forest… until the sun sets and they are completely lost! Meanwhile at the Fire Station, the Firefighters are excited to try out their new uniforms… except Elvis, who is rather fond of his old uniform. Penny is sure that once Elvis sees all the night features (reflective stripes and torches) he’ll love the new uniforms. But when the team does a night drill in their new uniforms, Sam notices that Elvis is still wearing his old uniform underneath! Back in the forest, the Professor decides to make an ancient torch – a stick with a rag on it soaked in oil. Unfortunately, he holds it up too high and sets alight the trees above! The forest is very smoky, but luckily night features on the Firefighter’s new uniforms help them quickly track down and rescue the lost group. Elvis will always love his old uniform… but he might love his new uniform more.

Cave Calamity
S14 E9 • 9m • HDU

Norman needs to spot as many seaside items on Jodie’s list as he can to complete his ‘Marine Conservation’ homework but isn’t having much luck. And it’s getting close to lunch time! Charlie and Sarah spot a crab running into a cave, so Norman and his mom Dilys head over to find it. Unfortunately, the pair get stranded inside the dark cave by the rising tide, and Norman can’t get a signal on his phone. The Ocean Rescue team scour the shore searching, until they spot a picnic basket floating by a cave mouth. Sam rushes in on Juno, which can only take one extra passenger at a time. Sam grabs Norman, and speeds back to rescue Dilys, just before the cave fills up with water!

Swift Drift
S14 E10 • 9m • HDU

Trying to impress new boy Peter with his sailing skills, Norman loses control of a skiff with Nipper the dog on board. Peter jumps into a second skiff to rescue him but goes too fast and collides with the first skiff! They’ve gone too far from shore and are now lost at sea on sinking ships! Meanwhile, Sam, Penny, Ellie, and Elvis are taking a tour of the brand-new airport, with a special hanger that will house the new rescue plane – FireSwift! Peter’s elder sister, Krystyna, is flying it in today. The new plane excites Elvis, who gets ready to help it glide to land. But when FireSwift approaches at speed, its propellers suddenly twist to face up and it lands in the hanger like a helicopter! The emergency call comes in, and FireSwift is the obvious choice to lead a far and wide sea rescue. They quickly locate the boys and Nipper, and Sam and Penny winch them from danger before the boats sink. This wasn’t how Krystyna was planning to pick him up Peter from Sailing Club!

Let's Go Fly a Kite
S14 E11 • 9m • HDU

Peter discovers Hannah’s dad’s grand blueprints (and parts) to build a giant kite. Joe reveals he never managed to get it off the ground, but Peter knows just what to change to make it work… Out on the cliffs, the kids launch the kite but it’s a really windy day and they can barely hang onto it. James gets tangled into the kite string and is yanked by his feet into the air. He hangs onto the top of the lighthouse as Hannah and James call the Rescue Team. Penny races to the lighthouse in Venus as Sam and Ellie head out to sea in the hovercraft as back up. James can’t hold onto the lighthouse any longer, so when Penny doesn’t get to him in time, she radios Sam and Ellie to say that James is heading out to sea. Ellie chases down James and the kite and Sam brings him safely on board.

Go Team Wildman

Dilys's Sizzling Sauce

Dilys ordered too much Pontypandy Spice Sauce and now the Cut Price Store is overflowing with bottles! Dilys and Norman cook a batch outside the store so everyone can smell how delicious it is. Norman cranks up the heat – more sizzle, more smell! Unfortunately, the townsfolk wrinkle their noses at the combo of bananas and sausages. Dilys and Norman start over, but they need more sauce. As they dash inside, the oily pan bursts into flames! Dilys panics and throws water on the flaming oil. Now the whole shop is on fire and Norman is trapped upstairs! Time to call the rescue team! The Firefighters cut the power, extinguish the pan with a fire blanket and then bring the shop fire under control with sticky foam. Arnold uses Jupiter’s hydraulic platform to rescue Norman, while Sam and Ellie wear their breathing apparatus and head inside to put out the last of the fire. Dilys is reunited with her son – and learns her lesson about taking her eye off a hot pan!

On the Rocks
S14 E14 • 9m • HDU

When Jodie films her vlog on Pontypandy Island, Ben tries to impress her with his camera skills. But he takes so long to set up, that Mandy and James are always able to get the shots Jodie needs on their phone-cameras first. So, when Mandy and James spot a school of leaping fish but can’t film underwater, Ben sees his chance to impress Jodie with his underwater camera. But when Ben clambers over a cluster of rocks, his foot gets wedged. He can’t move and the tide is coming in! Jodie, James and Mandy take their boat, but end up caught in seaweed. Better call the Rescue Team! With the help of Krystyna in Wallaby 2, Sam frees Ben from the rocks. Ellie attaches a tow to Jodie’s boat whilst Penny dives underwater to remove the seaweed. Everyone is rescued and taken back to shore. Ben apologises, explaining he was trying to get an amazing underwater shot… And he did. His camera managed to capture the fish as they swam past the rocks that trapped him. Jodie is impressed after all!

Dinosaur Danger
S14 E15 • 9m • HDU

When Mrs Chen takes the children on an outing to sketch forest flowers, it’s not long before James and Peter sneak off to look for Professor Pickles’ nearby dinosaur dig. The site is surrounded by tape and danger signs, but the excited duo decide to explore anyway. James finds Professor Pickles’ papers and realizes he hasn’t found any bones yet. James declares he will find some when the earth rumbles and opens up beneath him! Peter rushes across to help him but they both end up falling down an old mineshaft! Mrs Chen realizes the boys are missing and calls the Rescue Team. Both the Police Helicopter and FireSwift are deployed, and with both team’s sniffer dogs on the hunt, it’s not long before James and Peter are rescued. Professor Pickles arrives and as soon as he knows everyone is safe, is overjoyed to hear that James spotted the thigh bone of a T-Rex on the way out of the mineshaft. He invites the boys back to see the dinosaur dig properly. ‘Like REAL Dinosaur Buddies’ they chorus.

The Pontypandy Hat Parade
S14 E16 • 9m • HDU

Norman is determined to make the best hat for the Pontypandy Hat Parade, and finally get on the cover of the school magazine. So, he enlists Mandy and her dad’s to help him make a giant hat. Mike solders the frame for it, then warns the kids to be careful of the hot soldering iron as it cools down. But Norman is in such a hurry, he accidently knocks the soldering iron into a bag of material – without noticing. The kids finish their hats and put them on, but when Norman tries to leave… the hat gets stuck in the door! They push and pull trying to get unstuck when suddenly there is a WHOOSH and an orange glow behind them! Mandy and Norman manage to wriggle outside, but the Floods’ sitting room is now in flames! The Rescue Team arrives, and Sam, Ellie and Elvis soon have the fire under control. They wrench Norman’s hat from the door and blast it with sticky foam. Despite the damage, Norman wears his big hat for the parade and Mrs Chen says it looks very interesting!

Pontypandy Wonderland - Part 1
S14 E17 • 9m • HDU

When Charlie brings Mandy, Sarah and Norman out to sea, the kids end up fighting over who should be captain, tussling over the captain’s hat until Charlie ends up falling into the sea! As he watches his boat chug away, Norman declares that since he was the last one to wear the hat, he should be captain and turn the boat around. There is another tussle that leads to Norman over revving the engine and making it catch fire! Charlie manages to climb back into the burning boat and sends up a flare for help. A full search and rescue mission launches with Neptune, Titan, Juno, Wallaby Two, the Police Helicopter and FireSwift. Everyone is lifted safely back to dry land. Charlie is impressed with the new clean energy electric motor on Neptune and is keen to replace his damaged engine with one like it. He declares that it will be like ‘having a new boat’ causing Norman to vow that he’ll be the captain!

Pontypandy Wonderland - Part 2
S14 E18 • 9m • HDU

It’s Christmas Eve in Pontypandy and with no snow on the forecast, everyone is lending a hand to turn the Quay into a Ponty Wonderland. Hannah and Peter design a Snow Machine, but it only makes a puff of mist. Sarah spots Joe’s Sparkes-Super-Charger 2000 and convinces a reluctant Peter to attach it. Frustrated at it still only making mist, Sarah turns it up to the max and it’s not long before the machine zooms round the Quay with Hannah and Peter on top of it… then shoots out to sea! Sam and Penny race off to rescue them, and with some nifty driving from Penny and a well-timed lift off the machine from Sam, Sarah and Peter are scooped into Neptune - just as the Snow Machine scrapes ashore on the rocks! Sarah apologises to Penny for rushing Peter and Hannah but then Sam arrives and tells Sarah to look outside… Sarah is overjoyed to see the whole Quay is covered in snow! Everything is ready for the grand opening tomorrow... where Joe Sparkes will reveal his big surprise!

I'm the Captain
S14 E19 • 9m • HDU

It’s the grand opening of the Pontypandy Wonderland, and everyone is excited to see Joe’s big surprise! He removes the tarp to reveal… a very tall Christmas tree? Joe claps once… activating a face on the tree… then claps twice… making the tree dance to festive music. It’s impressive but as the crowd applaud Joe’s masterpiece, the clapping overloads its sensor and it malfunctions, dancing around the Quay with sparks flying out of it. The crowd runs as it sets fire to everything in its wake. The Firefighters take Venus and Jupiter and manage to fight the fire and blast down the tree. Unfortunately, the Wonderland is now quite a mess… Just then the Rescue Team arrives to repair Christmas! A new tree is put up, and a new stack of presents has arrived, one for each person in Pontypandy! And then it actually starts to snow. Chief Elf Norman was right… ‘Tis the magic of the season!

Tidal Turmoil
S14 E20 • 9m • HDU

Norman and Hannah help at the Pontypandy Vets while Lizzie leads an animal rescue session at the Fire Station. Lizzie explains that large animals like horses startle easily and need to be approached with caution. At the Vets, Norman struggles to attach his lead to Lambikins and Woolly, and soon the sheep are running loose. The kids try to round them up, but in the chaos, Prince the Horse gets loose. When Norman startles him, Prince makes a break for the open road! While Norman and Hannah give chase, the sheep wander off too. The kids chase Prince all the way to the tidal flats, where Prince runs into the water, getting stuck in sinking mud and with an incoming tide. Better call the Rescue Team! Penny uses FireSwift’s hoist to lift Prince to safety. With Prince back on dry land, Norman and Hannah are sorry for startling the horse – and for leaving Woolly and Lambikins unattended. Elvis reveals that he has been sheep sitting the two cheeky sheep… to Norman and Hannah’s relief.

Norman Takes Off
S14 E21 • 9m • HDU

Mrs Chen takes her class on a tour of the airport. Mandy and Sarah go with Krystyna to view the Control Tower, while Mrs Chen takes Norman and James aboard FireSwift – with strict instructions not to touch the ignition. Norman is frustrated that Mrs Chen doesn’t know the proper names for different parts of the aircraft – he knows lots about flying, having practiced for hours on his video game: Flight Rescue 9000! Mrs Chen insists he listens to her. But when she accidentally presses the ignition, FireSwift takes off vertically and Mrs Chen struggles to control it. With Sam on the way in Jupiter, Norman takes the controls and keeps the plane steady. James lowers FireSwift’s winch, but they are still too high up. Sam raises Krystyna up on Jupiter’s platform to reach the winch. Krystyna takes control and lands the plane safely. Mrs Chen apologises and admits she should have listened to Norman for once. Krystyna praises Norman – with proper training he could make a great pilot one day!

Baking Blunder
S14 E22 • 9m • HDU

Trevor supervises the Pontypandy Pioneers in the Wholefish Café while they try to earn their Baking Badge. But when James dreams up a Jupiter-shaped cake, lots more sponges need to be baked. Meanwhile, Mike fixes a squeaking door at the Fire Station and does anything he can to avoid going home to clean his oven… It’s really greasy! Back at the Wholefish Café, James realizes they need more ovens to bake all the sponges in time. Thinking her oven will be clean, Mandy offers up hers. But when they pop the cakes in the oven… the kitchen bursts into flames! Time to call The Rescue Team! They turn off the house power, close the oven door and put out the fire… but the cakes are burnt to a crisp! Fireman Sam advises Mike that if you don't clean an oven, grease builds up on the bottom, sides and door, and can catch fire when heated. Mandy sighs, thinking they haven’t got their Baking Badge, but the clock is still ticking and James saves the day with a wonky but delicious Jupiter cake!

Keep Calm and Upwards Octopus
S14 E23 • 9m • HDU

Mandy tries to earn her ‘Wholefish Yoga’ badge by teaching the rest of the Pioneers the ‘Upward Octopus’ sequence. Only she keeps getting interrupted by loud noises and has to move her class from the park, to the field next to the train station, to the ruins! The Pioneers finally manage to all get their yoga balls in the air when Nipper dashes in, chaotically barking and chewing the balls. Mandy, seething, tries to snatch a ball back but instead sends the ball flying off the cliff edge, followed by Nipper and then herself, stranding themselves on a cliff ledge. Time to call The Rescue Team! Sam and Penny get into position on the cliff edge as Krystyna in FireSwift hovers in position and sends down the double harness. The noise from FireSwift distresses Nipper but Mandy keeps calm and reassures Nipper until they’re rescued! Mandy finally earns her ‘Wholefish Yoga’ badge by leading the Pioneers and the rescue team in a spectacular round of Upward Octopus as the sun sets on the ruins.

Go-Cart Challenge
S14 E24 • 9m • HDU

Mandy, Hannah, and Peter host a Go-Kart Challenge while Mike and Helen make a barbeque. Mandy and Hannah keep winning races, but Peter hasn’t won a thing. So he asks Mike to make him a twisty turny course with a Big Bend. Mandy and Hannah both race the Big Bend run in really good time. Unfortunately, on Peter’s turn, he is so eager to do well that he takes the Big Bend too fast and falls out of the Go-Kart, leaving the empty kart to plummet down the hill and straight into Mike and Helen’s barbeque. The Go-Kart catches fire and rolls into the woods, setting ablaze everything in its path! EMERGENCY is called. Elvis and Ellie fight the fire on the ground while FireSwift drops Sam and Penny into the heart of the blaze. The fire is so big, Krystyna picks up water from the ocean to drop on the fire from above. Soon the fire is out and Peter is sorry for causing it and ruining Mike’s legendary sausages. Helen takes everyone home for some ‘not very legendary’, but comforting, cheese on toast.

Mystery of the Pontypandy Werefox
S14 E25 • 9m • HDU

The Why Files (Norman and Hannah) investigate a mystery at Mike Flood’s house… He awoke to find a pint of spilled milk on the floor, a half-eaten sausage roll, a clump of fur and strange ‘dog like’ footprints leading away from it. Norman concludes Mike must be a Werefox! The kids follow the footprints to the Cut Price Store, where Lizzie is frustrated about a fox that keeps taking her cheese. Maybe Mike isn’t a Werefox after all… Except he got so worried about becoming a Werefox that he’s decided to run away! With the moon on the rise, Mike jumps into the unattended Pontypandy Flyer and sets off… just as Gareth arrives back with the brake bolt he was fixing! Time to call EMERGENCY. Krystyna lowers Sam and Penny on to the moving train. Mike is lifted off in a harness and Penny uses the bolt to stop the Flyer… just in the nick of time!! Back in Pontypandy, Lizzie puts a fox deterrent up in Mike’s garden and Mike is relieved he isn’t a Werefox after all! Another Why Files case closed!

Steele’s Big Day
S14 E26 • 9m • HDU

Everyone’s pitching in to throw a big party to celebrate Steele’s time in the Fire Service. Mike and Joe are setting up fireworks when the kids point out that a drone display would be much better for the environment, and less scary to pets. At the park, the kids guide a practice run of the light display. Unfortunately, Joe hasn’t charged up the WIFI transmitter so when the drones take off… they have no control over them! Joe says it’s okay because he programmed them to return to the garage… ‘Where all the fireworks are?’ Says Hannah. The drones crash into the boxes of fireworks, starting a huge fire, with rockets flying everywhere! Better call the rescue team! The firefighters blast Joe’s Garage and the surrounding field with hoses and extinguishers and Elvis uses a Floppy Shovel. Soon the fire is out.
