Mudtown, Cuckoo in the Skull

After a teenage rave leads to a warehouse fire, volunteer magistrate Claire unknowingly makes a wrong decision in court that affects her values, local community and family life.

With Ned in a critical condition, Claire feels the weight of her decision and decides to take matters into her own hands. Meanwhile, Pete expands his own investigation.

Beca brings Sonny over for dinner, which only succeeds in heightening Claire's distrust and has her questioning his alibi the night of Ned's shooting.

Beca and Sonny's involvement in the fire becomes evident, Alun's money problems grow, and Claire tips the scales of justice in order to keep Sonny away from her daughter.

Beca does everything in her power to get Sonny out of prison, but with Claire, Saint Pete and Jamie all on her tail, she struggles to hold on to her only way out of Newport.

Claire and Pete learn the truth of what happened the night of the shooting. Meanwhile, Beca makes for a final escape, while Claire and Alun target Sonny to get to her first.
