Opal Hunters Red Dirt Road Trip, Red Centre Rubies

JC travels west across the country to meet with his mentor and black opal specialist, Rod Manning, on a secret mission. In the Western Australian Goldfields, Rod has tracked down a mining tenement where it's reported $5 million of black opal was found.

In the world famous Margaret River wine region in Western Australia, JC sets the duo up with a job pruning vines at a winery. In the aptly named, Shark Bay, the boys do a deal with pearl farmer, Rob Morgan, to create a unique gemstone.

Rod and JC prospect a long-defunct diamond mine. Plus, saving an orphaned baby wallaby leads to important volunteer work for Rod, and JC. And, in Broome, their rough diamonds are transformed into $10,000 worth of cut stones.

Rod and JC team up with Kakadu National Park Rangers to catalogue the world's biggest species of crocodile. Plus, Rod finds a monster ruby at the isolated, gem-filled Harts Range.

In Australia’s last travelling boxing tent, JC’s boxing skills are put to the test. Plus, Rod and JC team up with opal mining matriarch, Sue White and her granddaughter to hunt for unique Yowah Nuts and valuable opalized fossils.

In the final week of their trip, the race to reach $40,000 each is down to the wire on Rod and JC's epic red dirt road trip. They strike it big mining giant garnet clusters before embarking on a treasure-hunting mission with a personal connection for Rod.
