The neighbours are woken in the middle of the night when a car alarm goes off and the Bairds find themselves hosting an impromptu party, despite just wanting to get to their beds.

Beth's hopes of a traditional Sunday lunch are dashed when Cathy and Colin arrive in the middle of an argument, Jaz locks himself in the toilet, and Christine and Sophie turn up uninvited.

Colin throws a birthday bash for his father Willie, but despite Cathy's big show of being the ultimate hostess, the long-suffering Beth has to step in and rescue the evening.

Technophobe Christine faces a computer crisis when she goes online to buy a buggy for Sophie's baby and her screen freezes mid-purchase, so, as ever, she heads to the Bairds to get help.

Matters become complicated when Beth organises a baby shower for mother-to-be Sophie, who has already asked the Bairds to be godparents - but hasn't yet broken the news to Christine.
