Previously filmed as Manhunter by by Michael Mann, Thomas Harris's first Hannibal Lecter novel gets a slick second adaptation here with Anthony Hopkins taking his third bite as the cannibalistic killer. Edward Norton stars as FBI profiler Will Graham, the man who put Lecter behind bars - at great personal cost. But when a serial killer called the Tooth Fairy (played by Ralph Fiennes) massacres a third family, Graham is forced to pick the good doctor's brain. The tension's unbearable, but things really heat up when Philip Seymour Hoffman's cocky reporter meets a spectacularly infernal end.
