The police are tracking down nine suspects linked to the theft of £1,000,000 from the historic market town of Alnwick, Northumberland.`The Heist' tasks ordinary residents of a British town with planning and committing the perfect heist in a staged bank robbery in the hopes of being able to keep the booty for themselves. A team of 15 real detectives, both retired and active, are reaching out to the public who were in the area at the time or witnessed anything suspicious. In this real-life game of cops and robbers, the suspects must outwit the detectives for 20 entire days to be able to keep the cash. If they stumble or leave behind too many clues, they risk being caught by the police and heading home empty-handed.
